Proud Mama!

Oh yea! I'm a proud MaMa! When Kelly was 2.5 years old she could run with the older kids and keep up and usually out run them. I started thinking about what kind of athlete she would become. She started gymnastics, took swimming and dance lessons, and finally this summer started Cheer. It didn't take her long to catch on and she soon became a Flyer. Her team finished 8th, 2nd twice, and finally took First! She got rewarded last night for her hard work by being selected Best Flyer and Best Jumper on her team! WAY TO GO KELLY!!!!

Our Family is Complete

We finally had a family portrait taken! Our family became complete in September when we brought Max home. We had the portrait taken in January. I use materials from The Story Matters kit and a sketch by Audrey Yeager from Challenge Masters.

Another layout

I guess I'm on a roll! This is the 3rd layout completed this week! WOOHOO!!! This one was done using the kit from The Story Matters and for a challenge by Rachel at ScrapbookDreamer. It was a build-a-page challenge. She posted the supplies then steps for the layout. I'm not very good at following directions, but I had fun creating this layout using her steps! This was a story I've been meaning to scrap about since it happend! Thanks Rachel for the inspiration!

Me day!

My one little word that I'm focussing on this year is balance...In order to achieve a better balance in my life I need to create more ME time. I signed up for a monthly scrapbooking class at my not so LSS. February 14th was the first class and here are the 2 (3) layouts I created at the class.

I modified the 2 pager one. The bird/wish square was originally a fold out for journalling and more photos...I just used the top for that. I added the brads/ribbon/journalling square...and viola...W is for Wish... (Note: I may have to scrap that photo of Max again...what an awesome photo!) Then there is You Warm my Heart. I modified this one slightly also. They pp had a title on it...DAYS...that didn't really work for this photo. So I covered it up with my title. I pleated and stitched the scallop paper below the photo and decided not to do a pull out journalling tag. I cut and embossed a label instead. Another great photo of Max. I think I need to take some more of Kelly, but she NEVER sits still enough! LOL!!!

Too simple?

Ever fight with a layout? Every once in a while I do. I originally started with the Impromptu sketch by Audrey at Challenge Masters. I thought Kelly's dance photo would be perfect. And it is, but I also wanted to do the group photo...no prob...I'll just turn it for a 2 page layout. Then the problems began. I kept thinking the layout was just too simple. But everytime I tried to add something, flowers, bling, anything...it just took away from something. So here it is...just simple and sweet.

Chocolate Survival Kit

Ok...I saw this incredible project by Jana Eubank (she's AWESOME) on NoleMignon's site. I KNEW I had to make one for Kelly's teacher. The bead box will be filled with yummy chocolate and given as a Valentine's day kit! Here is the link to the original project:

Thanks Jana for the inspiration! YOU ROCK!

I bought the bead organizer box at Michael's for $1.99. Everything else came from my stash. I did emboss the pink background paper. But I used a sizzix plate in my cuttlebug. I used the spellbinders embossing mat...but, it did not give a deep press. So, either I need more shims or a different mat to make the sizzix plates work in the cuttlebug.

One Little Word Contest

So...I mentioned Challenge Masters has really gotten into Ali Edwards One Little Word idea. I made a frame to keep me motivated (Altered Challenge) and now I've completed this layout to really express my thoughts about Balance.

Challenge Masters is also having a One Little Word contest. You just need to create a layout about your word. You have until February 14th...so there is still plenty of time...

Here is mine:

Check this out

There is a site...Scrap for a Cure...they donate to charities. How cool is that...buy at kit and $$ go to charity! I'm soo so in.

And Diana, the co-owner is in the loving, sharing mood. She is giving away a February kit. Check out her blog --> http://daijogomoments.blogspot.com/2010/02/sharing-love.html

It is pretty simple to get in the drawing! So let's get the word out for Scrap for a Cure!

One Little Word

One little word...Ali Edwards came up with the idea to focus on One Little Word for the year. What a great idea. And well...it seems that Challenge Masters loves it also. The altered challenge focused on that one little word. You needed to alter a frame focusing on your word to keep you motivated.

So, I had this floating frame sitting around. There are 4 pieces of glass to work with. My word is balance. It was fun to create this. Materials are MME Bohemia, AC thickers, and a BG rub-on.

The journalling reads: Balance to me, is a bout finding a balance between what my family, the house, and friends need from me and what I need for me!
