Kelly is 10!

I still cannot believe my baby is 10!  It seems like just yesterday I could hold her in my arms.  They grow soo fast.  I hope she is enjoying her day!  It started off with this card...

Happy 10th birthday Kelly!

I've been scrapping!

For some reason, I have a bug up my behind to finish '09...don't ask me why.  I'm not a "I'm behind" kind of scrapper.  But I have had these photos printed out for a long time...2+ years and I just want them off my desk!  LOL!!

Anyway...I think I've also gave myself a new found sense of freedom by just insert photos I don't necessarily want to scrap, but want to save them in the album.  So I've been inserting the photos into those pocket pages.  LOVE this!

So here are three pages I've created...I also have a fourth.  I'm soo on a roll!  LOL!  The first one I used Authentic papers I bought for Max...but they were perfect for Kelly's dress.

The next one I finished up the On Trend line from Crate Paper.  I believe I create 4 one page layouts, 2 cards, an altered project, plus used scraps for one of the above mentioned photo page.  I LOVE when I use something up and it doesn't go into the stash.

And for the last I had this Jillibean page kit laying around...(I have kits for emergency crops...meaning I didn't plan so I need to grab these)!

Thanks for looking and stop by Scrap 'N Chat to see which one of these will be the inspiration for the Weekend Blitz!

Another 2 pager

I know shocker!  But the real shocker is that I created both 2 page spreads using just the same 4 pp, I 12x12 die cut, and one matching sticker sheet.  I originally bought the supplies with one page layouts in mind.  It was a real challenge to make it work for one two pager, let alone 2.

I believe this design was inspired by the Pebbles blog -- make it a double.  I knew the die cut would work for the center and I had one full sheet left which would work for the strip across the page.  Add embellishments and viola...Easter of '09 done!  BAM!  That's what I'm talking about.  Put the extra photos in a PL sleeve and now I can move on to the next project.  Oh yeah!

Challenge Day...

...well almost.  The 15th is the actual challenge day, but I'm feeling it today.  Well the story is...I sorta had a melt down last September.  Life hit me upside the head again (twice in the same year is just not fair).  Anyway...I had to back away from Scrap 'N Chat to recover.  It took me the rest of the year!!!  I'm back to scrapping and back on the site.

I was looking for a 2-page challenge.  I have a bunch of photos from Easter of '09 to scrap and needed some inspiration.  I haven't done a 2 pager in a LONG time.  Well...no 2 page challenges had be posted since August.  I was not going to let that stop me.  So I found a 2 page PageMaps sketch (Thanks to Becky Fleck for the inspiration again) and decided to post a 2 page challenge.  AND, since I have it done today...I'm posting early just cause I can!  LOL!!  BAM!  Take that!

So...here is my layout...come to Scrap 'N Chat to see the actual challenge!

Pagemaps Sketch

Well...I find myself scrapping again which is a very good thing.  I noticed this awesome sketch on the Pagemaps site.  Although I have to admit, all of Becky Fleck's sketches rock.  But this one really spoke to me and I thought is perfect for these bird photos and feathers that I had...so viola...A little Jillibean, some Flair, and actual feathers and we have a layout!

Winter Layouts

Hey all!  This month at the Scrapbooking Studio I got to play with Carta Bella's Winter Fun line.  And I sure had fun creating with it.  I think my favorite project was the trees I created.  I used Maya Road spools, some small craft sticks, fun PP from Carta Bella, and viola...cute winter trees!

Then a couple of layouts.  One with beautiful winter scenery and the other with fun snow photos!  This line had perfect papers and embellishments for the photos.

And finally...a wintery card!  For you locals...make sure you stop by the Scrapbooking Studio to pick up the entire line...you'll love it!

Scrapbooking Studio projects

Oh yeah!  I just love creating for the BEST scrapbook store in the Quad Cities!  I just LOVED this On Trend line by Crate Paper.  It was WAY fun to play with.  The papers are bright and cheery, plus versatile enough for a boy page.  A win-win for me.  Check out these projects, then head to the store!
Whenever I hear "You are my Sunshine" I think of my daughter.  And well, these papers were perfect to alter the canvas.  I used Tumbled Glass distress stain for the background then added the papers.  Then I tossed some matt mod-podge on and before it dryed added the letters.  Love how it turned out.

Then I needed to scrap my kids and make a bright cheery card.  These papers and embellishments were way fun to work with.
